Jetro Meira de Oliveira

Conductor / Musicologist / Lecturer

About Me

Jetro Meira de Oliveira is currently the artistic director and principal conductor for the UNASP Symphony Orchestra and the chamber chorus Officina Vocalis.​ He's the artistic director for the Adventist Philharmonic Orchestra of Brazil (OFAB) and UNAMUSI (UNASP International Academy of Music). He serves in the conducting staff at the Oregon Music Festival (USA).

Maestro de Oliveira received a DMA in Conducting and Musicology at the University of Illinois (2002) and a MMus in Conducting and Music History at Andrews University (1996).

His research interests focus on how people interact with music, thus, involving different fields of knowledge, such as musicology, education, sociology, psychology, and philosophy.

Maestro de Oliveira prides himself as an expert in offering young musicians their first significant experiences with the concert repertory.
