Jetro Meira de Oliveira

About Me
Jetro Meira de Oliveira is currently the artistic director and principal conductor for the City of Cosmópolis Symphony Orchestra. Previously he conducted the UNASP Symphony Orchestra and the chamber chorus Officina Vocalis. He was the artistic of the Adventist Philharmonic Orchestra of Brazil (OFAB) and artistic director UNAMUSI (UNASP International Academy of Music). He served in the conducting staff at the Oregon Music Festival (USA).
Maestro de Oliveira received a DMA in Conducting and Musicology at the University of Illinois (2002) and a MMus in Conducting and Music History at Andrews University (1996).
His research interests focus on how people interact with music, thus, involving different fields of knowledge, such as musicology, education, sociology, psychology, and philosophy.
Maestro de Oliveira prides himself as an expert in offering young musicians their first significant experiences with the concert repertory.
